The short version: Dave's Vet Station gives you helpful general information about animal health from AI assistants. It is not a veterinarian and does not provide veterinary care, diagnosis, or treatment. Always rely on a licensed veterinarian for real medical decisions about your animal. Use of this service is at your own risk.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dave's Vet Station and its AI assistants (the "Service"), operated by Sagewire Syndicate ("we," "us," "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service Is

Dave's Vet Station provides general, informational responses about animal health through AI assistants (including "Dave" for livestock and "Alice" for dogs and cats). The Service is intended to help you understand possibilities, describe what you're observing, and decide how urgent a situation may be.

2. What the Service Is NOT

The Service is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. It does not:

Diagnose medical conditions;
Prescribe or recommend specific treatments or medications as a veterinarian would;
Establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship;
Provide emergency medical services.

The AI assistants may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Information provided is general in nature and may not apply to your specific animal or situation. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for diagnosis, treatment, and any serious or emergency situation.

In an emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal clinic immediately. For pet poisonings, call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 (a fee may apply).

3. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the care and wellbeing of your animals and for all decisions you make regarding them.
You will use your own judgment and seek professional veterinary care when appropriate.
You will provide accurate information; the quality of any response depends on the accuracy of what you provide.
You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harm any animal or person.

4. Accounts & Information You Provide

Some features may require you to create an account or provide information about your animals. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to provide it. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.

5. Payments

Certain features may require payment (for example, subscriptions or usage credits). Prices, plans, and billing terms will be presented to you before you purchase. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, and your use of those services is subject to their terms. Refund terms, if any, will be described at the point of purchase or in a separate policy.

6. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided will be correct or suitable for your situation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sagewire Syndicate and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, animals, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any decisions made or actions taken based on information provided by the Service. Because the Service provides general information and is not veterinary care, you assume full responsibility for medical decisions about your animals.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sagewire Syndicate and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

9. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, and we may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we make changes.
